The Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association – Turkey Celebrates the Fifth Anniversary of Its Establishment

Under the slogan of (In the Inauguration Anniversary, We Renew Cooperation and Friendship), the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association – Turkey celebrates the fifth anniversary of its establishment.
Yesterday, the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association – Turkey celebrated the fifth anniversary of its establishment in Jamal Marish Hall, Bahcelievler Municipality, Istanbul.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Yassin Aktai, Advisor to the President of the Turkish Republic, Mr. Ali Kurt, Head of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (İDSB) and Mr. Mohamed Madi, Deputy Mayor of Bahcelievler and Deputy Head of Public Relations of Greater Istanbul Municipality. The Yemeni attendees were Mr. Abu Al-Fadl Ahmed Al-Saadi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers for the Plans and Programs Sector, Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Mikhlafi, the former Minister of Education, Mr. Talal Jamel, Media Attache at the Yemeni Embassy, and a number of members of the Shura Council and the Parliament, in addition to a number of heads of Turkish, Arab and Yemeni awqaf and associations.
The ceremony started with verses from the Holly Quran, followed by the speech of Dr. Abdul Raqeeb Abbad, Head of the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association, in which he welcomed the attendees. He said; “Today, we celebrate the fifth anniversary of establishing the Association. We thank everyone who contributed to the success of this work during the past five years. Today, we are launching a new phase in the Association with a new strategic vision.”
As for the guests’ speech, Mr. Ali Kurt, Head of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (İDSB), said; “Today, we celebrate with our brothers in the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association for this great achievement.” He added; “The Association is a member in the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (İDSB) and we will have joint businesses and projects in the next phase, God willing.”
Dr. Yassin Aktai, Advisor to the President of the Turkish Republic, thanked the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association to this invitation. He said; “We are always side by side with our Yemeni brothers whether inside Yemen or in Turkey concerning all the services provided to the brotherly Yemeni people.”
At the ceremony, memoranda of understanding and partnership were signed with five parties:
- Yemen Agency for International Development
- International Shafaqa Association – Turkey
- Ilak Dar Waqf – Turkey
- Umit Krawna Waqf – Turkey
- Strategic Thinking Group – Istanbul
The ceremony performances included the presentation of Association’s reportage and a film on the Yemeni-Turkish friendship throughout history, in addition to a film on the humanitarian situation in Yemen and chanting performances.
At the end of the ceremony, a Commitment to Friendship and Cooperation was signed by the guests and attendees to start the new phase of the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association with a new strategic vision aiming at achieving comprehensive development and sustainable impact
