Conclusion of Activities of Youth Friendship Forum in Karabük-Turkey

On Sunday February 16, 2020, the activities of Youth Friendship Forum were concluded in Krabuk. The forum lasted for three days in the period (14-16) February during which the forum included many lectures, courses, programs, entertainment activities and workshops.

The forum started with the opening ceremony which was attended by Dr. Mustafa Yasar, Vice Rector of Karbuk University, the Director of Education in Karbuk, Dr. Abdul Raqeeb Abbad, Head of the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association, Dr. Ahmed Al-Aqabi, Director of the Association and Deputy Head of the Yemeni Community, a number of Turkish organizations, in addition to a number of Turkish and Yemeni social figures.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Dr. Abdul Raqeeb Abbad, Head of the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association, gave a speech in which he welcomed the attendees. Then he reviewed the most important achievements of the Association in the sixth anniversary of its foundation.

The Vice Rector of the University also gave a speech at the celebration in which he thanked the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association and those who were in charge of it due to the support and contribution they provided to the Yemeni students and the educational process. He said that the university was ready to cooperate and coordinate for the benefit of the Yemeni students. At the end of the ceremony, a number of Turkish and Yemeni agencies and persons were honored.

After finishing the celebration, the attendees went to the university student housing of the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association which can accommodate about 227 students. On this occasion, the tape was cut by Dr. Mustafa Yashar, the Vice Rector of Karbuk University, and a number of Yemeni and Turkish figures. It is worth noting that the official opening will be carried out after obtaining the official license from the Turkish Education Ministry.

On the first day of the Youth Friendship Forum, the activities began with a workshop entitled “Challenges Faced by Yemeni Youth in Turkey”. It was held after Maghrib Prayer by Eng. Fouad Sabri. He discussed the most important challenges and difficulties faced by the Yemeni youth in Turkey and how to face and overcome these challenges.

On the second day that coincides Saturday, February 15, 2020, the activities began with a lecture given by Dr. Mustafa Yasar, Vice Rector of Karabuk University. It was entitled “Academic Success”. He stressed on the suitable ways of academic success and how the student can find his way to education successfully and competently so that he can benefit his homeland.

It was followed by a lecture given by Dr. Ahmed Al-Daghchi entitled “Features of the Islamic and Arab Identity between Stability and Change in Light of Globalization”. He talked about the changes that affect the Islamic and Arab identity in light of globalization and how to keep and protect it.

 

On the second day, the forum programs included a lecture given by Dr. Abdul Raqeeb Abbad. It was followed by a lecture given by Dr. Mustafa Al-Mumri. It was entitled “Youth and Their Role in Equations of Advancement and Civilization”. He talked about the importance of the role of youth in the advancement and civilization and what the countries depend on in building their future, as well as the expected role from the youth to build Yemen after their return.

The Friendship Forum program continued on the second day with a workshop entitled “Strategic Personal Planning” by Dr. Salim Al-Kahali who talked about the importance of strategic personal planning for everyone if they want to succeed and achieve their goals and ambitions. The workshop included practical training on how to make a strategic personal plan and identify its goals and methods.

The second day was concluded with a cultural evening in the student housing. It included several recreational and cultural programs.

The third and final day of the Forum started with an introductory lecture on “Jerusalem” given by Dr. Mraweh Nassar who talked about the Jerusalem issue and the grave violations and attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces, as well as Judaizing it and obliterating its character.

The forum concluded its activities with an artistic celebration which included many performances and there were some speeches, including the most prominent speech of the Friendship Association which was given by Dr. Ahmed Al-Aqbi, Deputy Head of the Association. He thanked the attendees, as well as the committees and work teams that exerted their efforts in making the forum successful. There was also the students’ speech in which they thanked the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association for holding that forum.

The celebration concluded its program with honoring some of the guests, committees, persons working at the forum during the three days, as well as the committees working in student housing during the last period.

It is worth noting that the Youth Friendship Forum was held on the occasion of the opening of the University’s student housing in Krabuk and this coincides with the sixth anniversary of the foundation of the Yemeni Friendship and Cooperation Association.
